Bryan Schmitz is a Senior Associate and GIS Analyst at The Goodman Corporation. He is the firm’s geospatial resource lead and principal cartographer. Bryan is responsible for construction of display material from GIS data, as well as the maintenance, development, and implementation of the hardware, software, and databases needed to accomplish specific tasks. He mentors other TGC staff to grow their GIS skillsets and works with our design team and lead analysts to ensure all GIS related deliverables are of the highest quality. Bryan leverages his data analyst skills in both grantsmanship and active transportation planning projects.
Bryan has completed advanced GIS training in ESRI products and overhauled our GIS practice to incorporate emerging trends in field collection, data gathering, as well as developing internet apps and tools to present GIS data on corporate websites for clients and help streamline the decision making processes for planners.
In his spare time, Bryan loves to mine data and geo-reference obscure errata. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, being an entrepreneur, performing and recording music as a multi-instrumentalist and reading philosophy and science fiction. He is currently studying for the GISP certification and mastering the pedal steel guitar.
